System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: Intel Iris 540

Blender Version

Created an ear. Used the mirror modifier to mirror the ear. Applied the modifer. (modifier was removed from the object).
However, now when I go into edit mode, it acts like the modifier is still on the object, and the mirrored faces disappear.

To duplicate:
Load the included blend file.
Select the "UMA_Human_Male_Head_ElvenEars" object.
Look at the modifiers and note it does not have the mirror modifier.
Go into edit mode.
See the left ear disappear.
Go back into object mode.
The left ear reappears.UMA Blender Female Fitter.blend

That .blend file seems to be corrupted somehow in the paint brushes, am getting crash here when trying to open it on a debug build…

Nevertheless, the ear thing is no bug at all, your left ear is simply hidden in Edit mode (hit alt-H there to show it again).
