Short description of error
Blender crashed each time I try to render the animation. (Ctrl F12) Sometimes it crashes imediately, other times it crashes after frame 2 or 3 has rendered. I've tried disabling the compositor, making all of the files local on my machine, and switching output image type. It still crashes consistently.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open the .blend file
  • press Ctrl f12 to render.
  • Blender crashes after the first 1 or 2 frames render.

Just a note, the proper blend file can be found within the folder "scenes & 3D Assets and is called "E300_sculpt_smooth.blend"

Other things worth noting:

  • This only happens on cycles, not eevee.
  • Despite the error being somewhere in the animation system, playback in regular viewport is just fine, even in rendered mode.

@Sergey Sharybin (sergey) don't know if you are the right person for this as the depsgraph stuff seems to not be used (set to NULL). So feel free to reassign

@Riley Brown (RileyBrown), In the future please attach a single file which demonstrates the issue. Linking the whole project is not helpful, just means we'll be spending more time isolating the issue. This also allows to attach file directly here, so it's always available in cases we need to look into this issue in 10 years (yes, we do time to time look into 10 years old reports, to ensure our new designs don't break something).

@Sebastian Parborg (zeddb), nowadays it's Brecht who is more familiar with the pipeline. But i'll have a look anyway.
