Short description of error
Opening a pre 2.80 blend file containing background images will not show them now. I think there should be a function added which will convert these empties and than set them accordingly as what there settings are.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Open pre 2.80 blend file contain background images
Nothing will show now

Ive attached a simple file with a image set to ortho righ side and one to camera. None of these show now in bl 2.80
I was checking this new method because i made an addon a while back which allows you to export and import those background images from one file to another file. I than noticed that backgound images was taken out and that the camera now has background image option as well as the empty as image has been improved.

I will update my addon but perhaps Blender 2.80 also needs a standard function which will convert the old data to the new method

Its actually both, it doesnt work because features have been changed.

There is no bug here, 2.80 is not 100% backwards compatible and not meant to be.

We can't move tasks from here to other websites, if you want to post again on for example devtalk you can.
