Ok edit... Just tried it again today and for some bizarre reason it works now. Go figure? I was about to record a .gif to show it not working but as I was recording it worked. Jeezaloo?
Anyhoo... it works for me now. Hope others get it sorted.

Just downloaded latest blender 2.8 and Shift A add cube, also tried with a uv sphere and cannot adjust options, greyed out.

I can't reproduce it, but maybe I don't understand the instructions correctly.

This works just fine.
add mesh.gif

Can you make a short video or gif to show the issue?

Jacques, the reproduction method you posted is indeed correct. I suspect there may be something about my setup that is causing strange windowing behaviour in Blender 2.8, as I have been experiencing similar issues with the preferences pane throughout most of the beta phase. However, I can't think of anything unusual on my computer that would cause this.

I will upload a video to this thread tonight, but in the meantime, the gif you posted is correct, except on my computer, the window would disappear at the point you attempted to interact with that value slider.

Video as requested. Note when I drag to interact with the value slider, Blender performs a box select rather than intended behaviour.blender_errors_1.mov

Update: Well, this is embarrassing. After, in no particular order, upgrading to the latest Windows update, uninstalling and reinstalling every device driver on my system, uninstalling and reinstalling Blender, I was just about to nuke my entire system, when... I realised I had not tried removing my Blender preferences file. Problem solved.

I'm sorry I cannot give any insight as to why the preferences file broke in such a way that it was causing really odd windowing behaviour, but there we go. Thank you for investigating the issue, and I hope my finding at least narrows down what the problem might be.

I was just now having this exact same problem and then I realized that after installing blender 2.82 that I was launching blender 2.81. Doh!

Although the reason I have both installed is that I wasn't sure my purchased addons would work with 2.82.

Note to self: It doesn't seem to be a good idea to have 2 versions of blender installed at the same time.
