System Information
Operating system: Mac Pro (Mid 2010) macOs 10.13.3
Graphics card: Radeon RX580

Blender Version
Broken:
Blender 2.8 2019-01-30 21:30 Hash: da1da3053d

Short description of error
Blender no longer recognizing my Radeon RX 580

Blender 2.9 supports this card and so did 2.8 for the first few versions. I thought it may be due to the Apple Metal announcement but my card supports OpenGL 4.5. I am running High Sierra Ver 10.13.3. Looking back at the Apple Meta announcement it seems that my OS will support OpenGL so Blender "should" be recognizing the card.

I asked this question on Blender Today Live #47, Pablo seemed to think it should be working.

Your OpenGL support is great, however Cycles has dropped support for OpenCL accelerated rendering on MacOS:

https://lists.blender.org/pipermail/bf-committers/2018-December/049695.html

So you're fine for Workbench viewport, Eevee, etc. but AMD cards are no longer supported for accelerated Cycles rendering on MacOS. CUDA is still supported, and of course pure CPU rendering. OpenCL is still supported on Windows, but I believe Apple has deprecated it and is not addressing outstanding issues that were making it difficult for Blender's developers to continue supporting it.

This is, unfortunately, no longer supported. I wish this was not the case, but so it is.

Hello very good, I have a problem I have a Gpu amd rx 580 of 4gb of vram and blender 2.83 the Gpu recognizes me in the section edit preferences system opengl but when rendering the cycles I have many errors like when blender closes or when I render the image It has many artifacts which I do not understand why it happens. I have windows 10

I don't' know if I should write here such information or not. I'm using Macbook pro mid 2015. Running Blender all version very smoothly, since the day Apple announced no more Nvidia I was planning to buy Radeon 580. I already have eGPU with nvidia gtx 970. Now when Nvidia is not supported in Apple I installed bootcamp windows 10 and there nvidia runs like a charm for Cycles. I also thought to buy Radeon so I won't need to switch OS every time but cycles may seems not supporting Radeon Rx 580..... Now I think I should also do some practice on Radeon ProRender for Blender that is fully compatible with AMD cards and Blender... I'm not marketing or anyway supporting Radeon ProRender but just a solution to keep using Radeon 580 whoever has this GPU... . I can't leave my GTX 970 btw!.
