removing objects from collection,causes them to disappear #61118

objects disappear,when removing from collection

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

I was able to download your video. So, the problem you have, is that when you use Object > Collections > Remove From Collection, the object disappears. This is actually not a bug, because technically, if you just remove something from a collection, doesn't mean it will add itself to a different collection. That is why you no longer see it in the scene. It still exists, and you can fint it in the Outliner under Blender File > Objects where you can link it back into the scene.

Typically, if you want to move something out of a collection and just into the Scene Collection, you would drag it there in the Outliner, or use the M key in the viewport.

@brecht: Should we change the behaviour of Remove From Collection, so that objects automatically get added to the Scene Collection?

@dfelinto: I did notice here that we are missing the Move to Collection operator in the Object > Collections submenu. (And, as an aside, we should also add the Make Proxy operator in there too) Both of these things don't have menu entries.
