Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

in the multires modifier, when you apply base, the mesh is badly deformed

steps to reproduce the bug :
Create a mesh (primitive, suzanne, torus...)
Add a multires modifier
Subdivide it a couple of times
Sculpt it
When you click 'apply base', the multires mesh is badly deformed
The deformation is different if i'm in object mode or if i"m still in sculpt mode
