Short description of error
Newly opened 'UV Editor' won't reflect previously created Annotation data-blocks

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Load Factory Settings
  • Go to 'UV Editing' Workspace
  • Expand toolpanel on the right by clicking on the little {key +} or pressing {key N}
  • Expand 'Annotations' sections and click 'New'
  • Go to 'Layout' Workspace
  • Change '3d Viewport Editor' to 'UV Editor'
  • Notice that the Annotations datablock isn't displayed, and only '+ New' can be seen

Here it shows both the menu button to choose an annotation and a New button.

Which I think is by design, annotation are not automatically tied to all editors of the same type, you have to choose which one to use in which editor.

Ah, that's my mistake then. I believed it was meant to be linked to all editors by default!
