Broken: ecd086ac3224
Worked: ?

Short description of error
When using hair particles and stereoscopic rendering, the particles don't render on the right eye when using object instances.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Create plane
  • Create cube
  • Add particle system to plane
  • Set particles to hair
  • Set particle render mode to "Object" and assign cube
  • Enable Stereoscopic rendering and render
  • Particles don't render in right eye

Event Timeline

Sebastian Parborg (zeddb) lowered the priority of this task from 90 to 50.

Works with eevee so this is a cycles bug.

Any update on this by any chance?

Richard Antalik (ISS) changed the task status from Confirmed to Needs Information from User.Jan 24 2020, 9:00 PM

I have re-triaged this report and can not reproduce it.
Can you please check if this is still an issue in latest build?

Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) changed the subtype of this task from "Report" to "Bug".

I can still reproduce the bug here, just rendering the scene and switching to view the right eye.

Hi everyone! I am still having this problem on blender 2.9... has there been any update on this bug?

I ended up getting around this by using a normal particle system with physics set to none, but afaik this problem still exists.

Thanks for the tip... my scene is quite big, but it might actually be a better solution than rendering with an open blender GUI on each computer
