Short description of error
I'm putting text on a curved object, as explained in the tutorial shown at https://youtu.be/csro_0eV0BQ?t=949

For the Font, I'm using LinuxLibertineDG

After doing the Intersection (and Applying), the symbol has lost its extrusion and become a 2D flat thing, keeping only the back face of the original object.

I’ve tried starting with this flat mesh and Extruding as a mesh (not as text), and it does the same thing.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
As with the video at the marked position. You don't need all the steps before that; just a plain sphere will do.
