3D Cursor don´t take into account the Geometry orentation (topbar options ) with keyboard shortcut

  • Open blender and select 3D cursor tool
  • Set "Geometry" in the topbar 3D Cursor options
  • Use Shift + RClick to set your 3D cursor on top of default cube

The issue here is that the 3D cursor tool is decoupled from the shortcuts. So the shortcuts will use the settings from the keymap.

@Daniel Lara (Pepeland) (pepeland) If you use the 3D Cursor tool, simply click normally. No need to the Shift + Right Click then.

Yes of course, you can use the 3D cursor tool and works well but if you are draw mode in Grease Pencil, for example drawing a "3D/Volumetric" background buildings set, based in a just a few small orientated planes
(so useful for story boarding and animatics) you need change constantly between 3D cursor and pen tools because the Shift + Right don´t take account your preferences that you previous set in 3D Cursor tool.

Discussed on IRC with @Sebastian Parborg (zeddb). The conclusion was that we could make the Set 3D Cursor operator respect the scene orientation by default.

Not yet. There is no consensus yet how to implement this. So it will probably have to go through some more interations before it is merged.
