Stable: 2.79b MACOSX (2018-03-22)
Short description of error
When I am running Blender 2.79 on MACOSX Snow Leopard in the User Preferences Pane the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and the NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT are recognized in CUDA tab.
When I am running Blender 2.80 on MACOSX El Capitan and Mojave in the Preference Pane mbp's graphic cards are not recognized in CUDA and OPENCL tabs. The CYCLES rendering works BRILLIANT but SHADER is broken.
When I am running Blender 2.80 on MM3,1 Windows 10 in the Preference Pane the mac mini graphic card are not recognized in CUDA and OPENCL tabs BUT the SHADER and CYCLES works great.
**MacOSX Blender Version 2.80 do not correctly recognize 9400M and 9600M GT OpenGL 3.3 graphic cards//

This is quite weird that those cards were displayed in 2.79: the requirement back then was compute capability 2.0, but those cards are 1.1 [1].
In Blender 2.8 we require compute capability 3.0, since the older older ones are no longer supported by the CUDA toolkit. This is documented in the release notes [2].
Thanks for the report, but there is nothing we can really fix here.
