Short description of error
Switch to hair particle then back to emitter particle will make the system stop working

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
create a particle system on the default cube, switch to hair then back to emitter, play the animation, nothing happen.

@fclem, seems to be drawing issue. If i assign instanced object to the particle system, it shows all correct in the viewport.
