Bone not correctly selecting in 2.8 edit mode
Closed, ArchivedPublic

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce 1080

Blender Version
2.8 build from April the 1st

Description of the issue
I was editing an armature, and I noticed that I had to click multiple times on the bones from different angles to actually be able to select them properly.
This might be corrected by earlier Blender build, but I'm reporting it just in case.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the issue
Just open a character armature in Blender 2.8 and try selecting the bones by clicking on them in edit mode.

Actually noticed that even selecting objects that are in front of each others in the 3D view in 2.8 is very hard to do and can take a few clicks before selecting the one you want to select.

Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) triaged this task as Needs Information from User priority.

We need a .blend file with exact steps to reproduce the problem.

We need a .blend file with exact steps to reproduce the problem.

this happens with all of my .blend files in 2.8 !
there is no specific file here

It generally happens in Edit mode (or pose mode for armatures) on any kind of object (armature, polygons, splines...)
more frequently in Wireframe view where things that are normally not visible in solid view get very tricky to select.
here are some examples where I had to click multiple times to select things (links are gifs) :
This is a tiny one but I often have to click multiple times in edit mode, wireframe view

here are two examples that annoyed me the most, with armatures in particular :
Selecting bones by clicking on their center randomly doesn't work
Selecting bones that are inside a mesh in pose mode can be very tricky too

I don't know if anyone reported this kinds of difficulties with selection in 2.8, but to me it doesn't feel like the usual selection we had in 2.7 or in the other 3D softwares I got to try.

the "exact steps to reproduce are literally what I said in the issue description, Naively open a .blend with various objects that are close to each others or somewhat complex armatures or characters and try selecting elements in different modes (edit, pose...).

Even on the character shown in the above gifs that isn't too complex I had issues with selection slowing down my work.

Even if it happens for all your .blend files, it doesn't mean it happens in one of mine. We still need one example .blend and exact steps to reproduce.

Further, you should try with factory settings to see if any of your preferences make a difference.
