crash
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Just setting up simple primitives adding a line and then trying to add materials it would crash

We need a .blend and exact steps to reproduce the crash. For example this crash seems to be in Cycles which is not the default render engine. There are probably more such specific details that contribute to the crash.
Yesterday when I was trying to use blender 2.8 with a simple file of primitives. I noticed that the materials were not visible when applied to the primitives.
However, when I downloaded a sample file from blenders website, it worked just fine. so I don't think that it's blender. It could possibly be my OS. Here is an outline of my system:
I run several mac pro 8 core computers, that are early 2009
Blender 2.8 runs on my main computer running OSX El Capitan
attached is the crash report, and blender file i built, i also have sucessfully ran the latest version of CroudRender for blender 2.8
