Sebastian Parborg (zeddb) triaged this task as Confirmed, Medium priority.

I do get shadows on my end, but the shadows do not match and seem cut off in ortho mode.

I have to increase the Cascade Size to get the shadows to match better. However even with the highest setting, the shadow visibly doesn't match.

@Clément Foucault (fclem) as mention in https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/render/eevee/shadows.html , the shadow map for sun lamps depends on the view, so I guess differences is expected. However is this much of a difference normal?

I set Solid Mode and switched shadows on. They work in othographic camera. But Evee still has no shadows. ((

As stated in the tooltip of Cascaded Shadow Map > Max Distance : the maximum distance covered by the shadow cascades is only used in perspective. In orthographic view the whole frustum is used for cascade bounds.

I think the latest bit is missing from the manual. But this is not a bug. Just how the implementation behaves.

However, if reducing the view Clip End value does not help, this is a legit bug.

Ok. Thank you for your time.

Yepp, adjusting clip end works on my end!

Could you please give a file where it works. Or show a screenshot which values i should set.
