Closed, ArchivedPublic

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: NVidia GeForce 920M

Blender Version
Broken: (example: 2.80, edbf15d3c044, master, 2018-11-28, as found on the splash screen)

Short description of error
When I try to import an obj file, the software hangs and my cursor becomes a black square. Then windows asks me to close or wait for the program. Blender Foundation should try to repair this problem or try to finish the complete non-beta version of Blender 2.80.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
->Go to the "File" Menu in the menu bar on the top
->Go to import and click on Wavefront (.obj)
->Import an example .obj file from your storage drive.
->Then you get the error or hanging of the software

I'm not a developer, but could not replicate the problem (with amd).
Did you test the latest version? Are your drivers updated?

If the issue occurs with the current version, and latest drivers.
Does the problem occur with a new session(empty project with default cube)? In general, a small blend file with an example file is always welcome.
Did you try other .obj files? Is it possible to provide a small example .obj file with the problem?

Also It would help developers having more specific info, about your system and blender version.
The easiest way is from the help menu -> report a bug. This opens the report form, with the description info filled.
Don't open a new bug, just copy the 'System Information' and 'Blender Version' parts here.

OBJ import seems to work fine. From the sound of it, you are trying to do a very large file.

Do you have an .obj that shows the problem?

Also, tell us what version of 2.80 you are running.
