System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.17763 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce RTX 2070/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 419.35

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.80 (sub 69), branch: blender2.7, commit date: 2019-05-17 23:36, hash: 03672e7783
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error

Problems with Imported curve as alembic from Houdini :

1- when changing a setting of the curve ( like bevel depth or resolution ) the object disappear and need to change the current frame so it can update in viewport.

2- The curve does not show up when rendering with cycles and eevee

It works just fine in blender 2.79 and as a workaround i apprend the object from 2.79 in 2.80 and it works without a problem

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

1- Import the alembic file and play the animation ( it's 50 frame animation )

2- stay in frame 20 or more ( to see the curve in viewport ) and change setting of the curve bevel depth or other settings : the object will desappear, change to another frame so it will appear

3- now that the curve have bevel depth you can render a frame, but it does not show up

[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)]
