Worked: 2.79

Short description of error
Wireframe mode in 2.8 defaults to Xray enabled with a value of 0.5. This causes ugly dithered noise over all wireframe objects with no benefit in return. The dithered 0.5 Xray does not add any perception of volume or depth. It just introduces noise and aliasing.

Default value of 0.5:

Proposed value of 0.0:

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Create a new file with a few overlapping cubes.
  2. Switch to wireframe mode.
  3. Observe ugly dithering and aliasing.
  4. Set Xray value to 0.0.
  5. Observe that the only difference is lack of dithered noise.

Result: Default Xray value of 0.5 harms the Wireframe mode quality without adding any visual benefits.

Expected: The new default Xray value for Wireframe mode will be 0.0.
