2.80 –– Nesting collection instances could clutter object display.
Open, Confirmed, MediumPublic

System Information
Operating system: XUbuntu 19.04
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 770

Blender Version
Broken: 2.80, 1fce0460d522, master, 2019-05-18
Worked: (optional)

A collection instance shows an 'empty object' gizmo on its origin. For simpler scenes, it is ok as-is. But, if collection instances are nested, children instances origins are shown as well.

More complex nested collection instances could include thousands of collection instances (tree example image)

Whole tree blend you can find here. (File size below 200k!)

On the left side, you can see clean tree modell. The right side shows how thousands of ''empty objects'gizmos cluttered the tree.

If you disable Display Overlays on the right side, whole tree de-clutters.

Sebastian Parborg (zeddb) triaged this task as Confirmed, Medium priority.

@Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) is this something we should consider changing or not? (If yes, who to assign?)

Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) removed Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) as the assignee of this task.

This is for @Clément Foucault (fclem) or @Jeroen Bakker (jbakker).

I don't think it should show the empty for nested collections.
