System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card:

Blender Version
Broken: 2.80 still has the missing alpha in the Group Node Background theme
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
Recently, I did a search to see if it was possible to change the Node Group background window to opaque, to only find out that someone here reported this as a bug back in February of 2019. The response from the Blender team over here, reported it back as a bug. The case was eventually closed due to claiming it was fixed. I am not sure which version of Blender was used to claim this false information as so called being "fixed." However, it is still broken in Blender 2.8. I understand that Blender 2.8 is still not officially released, but isn't using this board the point towards why I think it should be reported? Therefore, I believe that the bug report needs to be reopened.

These are the same Exact steps for others to reproduce the error states as in the last report
1, Open node editor, create a few nodes and make a node group of them
2, Enter the node group
3, Open user preferences, go to Themes>Node editor section
4, Select Group Node color swatch, and modify the color
5, Notice that the color of node group background changes but transparency does not
6, Notice there is no way to change the transparency of node group background

Result: Node group background transparency can not be changed

It works for me. The transparency of the grid does not change however, but I'm not sure that's a bug.

Please mention the exact Blender version tested and explain if there alpha has no effect at all, or not the effect that you think it should have.

Exact version:
I did not see a sub-version, except the splash screen says
Blender 2.8
Date: 2019-01-24

this version of Blender does not have an alpha version as of yet.

My reply
The feature you are mentioning only discusses about only changing the background color. However, in both cases we have mentioned that it is not possible to change the background transparency. In addition, you have mentioned that you were not sure if the transparency is a bug or not.

According to the previous case to this matter, it was discovered by Sebastian Parborg, stating that it is indeed a bug and it was fixed, but the version of Blender I am using only includes a color swatch with no alpha channel option. You can take a look for yourself by going to here . I really do not see the point why users need this feature in Blender. Normally, you would want to use it for tracing or placing objects precisely on top of each other. It also known as onion skinning.

2019-01-24 is way too old, it's not fixed in that build.
