Changing Point Density Radius crashes Blender

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Default Scene
  • Switch to cycles (but it crashes also with EEVEE)
  • Switch viewport shading to rendered
  • Add Point Density texture to the default cube material
  • Connect colour output to node wrangler viewer input socket or any diffuse colour (principled or diffuse shader)
  • Change from particle system to object vertices
  • Select object Cube
  • Start playing around with the radius slider

After few attempts Blender crashes :(

Cant get it to crash here.

Just to make sure (because there was an issue with the MAC build of RC):

Hi Philipp,

Thanks for having a look. I installed 2.80rc1 and yes it's still happening. I'll try to reproduce the bug on my office mac.
I'll let you know if I'm able to reproduce it.

I can reproduce this.

Win10 v1607 64 bit
GTX 1070

Repro steps from the file provided in the OP:

  • Enter Rendered mode in the viewport
  • Drag Radius slider like a madman

I made a screenshot if it can help.
