System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.17134 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1070/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 430.64

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.80 (sub 74), branch: master, commit date: 2019-07-11 13:50, hash: 06312c6d2d
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
when i try to reimport/import texture for example for non-color space texture it changes to SRGB mode every time and its too annoying.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
1)changing color space to non-color data
2)importing texture
3)it automatically changes to SRGB data

Similar to #66979.

Since 7ad802cf3a Image Texture Nodes now use the color space on the image datablock [this gets determined on fileload and can be changed later].
If you reload the same file, the chosen colorspace will be kept afaict, if you browse to a completely new image file, this is not kept, true...

I assume this will not be considered a bug (though it can be inconvenient at times -- see your report), but hesitate to close and will let @brecht decide here...

Yes, not a bug. We auto-detect the color space for new files. This could be improved perhaps but not a bug.

Unfortunately, for me the auto-detection fails every time, so I need to manually reset each node that needs a color space different from sRGB.
Also, unless there's another ticket already for it, a similar issue happens with image sequences: when I replace the sequence, frames, and start frames get reset too.

Brecht, any chance the auto-detection can be fixed? On my end, unfortunately, it fails every time. This happens with both 2.93.5, and any latest Blender 3 build.
