Brand new iMac mojave 10.14.5
iMac Retina 4K, 21.5 inch, 2019
Processor 3.2 GHz intel core i7
Memory 32GB 2667 MHz DDR4
Graphics Radeon Pro 560x 4GB

Blender Version
Blender 2.8 beta I think

**Short description:

I have a brand new iMac with cinema 4d and ZBrush. All works perfectly. An old Wacom tablet, works perfectly. I downloaded Blender 2.8 and it’s screwing up my whole computer. The mouse stops working in the program, then it stops working outside of the program unless I restart the iMac. Blender seems to work for a couple minutes before things really go bad. I have no issue with anything else. Please look hard at this exact computer configuration and this version of blender. I really wanna use it.

Blender 2.8 beta I think

Please check with the latest daily build from https://builder.blender.org/download/ and let us know which version you tried. "2.8 beta" could be any version from the past month, and we've been working hard fixing all kinds of bugs in that time.

I replied to the email, not sure if that works, so I’ll say it here too. The version of blender I downloaded, was downloaded literally a half an hour before I sent the bug report, if that helps. So, yesterday, Thursday, July 18th at 8:30pm. Or around that time.

ok, that helps. If you want to have an easier time (and us too) reporting bugs, just use the "Report Bug" menu item in the "Help" menu. That'll fill out some details automatically for you, including the exact version of Blender.

To "look hard at this exact computer configuration" we'd need that exact computer configuration, though, but I don't think you'll be willing to send that to us ;-)

With those symptoms, I'm guessing it's a driver issue (otherwise the problems would stop when Blender quits). Have you checked whether there are any driver updates?

I am willing to send anything you want. I’m just not gonna be near my computer until tonight. So I did my best. And the reason I didn’t use the item in help menu, was because it didn’t work. I tried it, and it also didn’t work. Something popped up and wouldn’t leave the screen until I restarted my computer. Also, I’m sorry, I don’t really know that much about software developement or computers in that way. So I don’t really know what driver you mean. Blender has different drivers? And I think I sent you my computer specs, didn’t I? What else do you need? I really wanna be able to use 2.8, so I’ll do anything I can to help.

I don’t really know what driver you mean.

I mean display drivers, but I'm not familiar enough with macOS to help much further.

I mean having the actual hardware here would certainly help solving this problem ;-)

ooooh, I understand lol. I didn’t get it at first. Yeah, I just got this computer, don’t think I’ll be lending it out anytime soon lol. But if you guys could look at blender, on a 2019 iMac running the latest Mac OS, I’d appreciate it. It really was pretty bad. The first thing I’d notice is I couldn’t move around the 3D viewport. The middle mouse button would just stop working. I realized I’d get into trouble when trying to select edge loops too. I was just testing the software, created a simple object with box modeling and SDS. Trying to select an edge loop and it would all just stop working. Couldn’t orbit around. The left mouse button started to act like the right mouse button. I was using a Wacom tablet (the mouse on it) at the time. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. It was an Intuos 5 touch with the latest driver. Not sure I know anything else, except the help menu didn’t work either. Wouldn’t take me anywhere when I clicked on it. If you need anything else, please let me know. I’d be happy to send it. I’m super excited about 2.8.

Ok, so, I’m sorry I meant to send this days ago. The problem with blender was the touch sensitivity on from my old Wacom tablet, and the new Mac. Nothing to do with blender. Once I fixed it, blender worked super smooth. Sorry for the misinformation!
