Short description of error
Hitting home (for "show all") in the VSE when the preview is used as the backdrop pans and zooms it out to an area far from the actual strips. If the backdrop is not used, it works fine.

From default startup file:

  • Switch the center viewport (3D view) to the VSE.
  • Select View -> Preview as Backdrop
  • Press Home
  • Enjoy
