Keyframes for material animations don't appear #67359

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10 x64
Graphics card: GTX 1080

Blender Version
Broken: 2.80 beta Hash: 5f140e61c2

Short description of error
When I animate values in the Mapping node, no keyframes appear in the timeline, graph editor or dope sheet.
It would be great to have this working so I can do things like sprite animation, or add modifiers to make material animations loop.

It also appears that animating other values in Shader Editor also don't result in a keyframe being visible in timeline, graph editor or dope sheet.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Load a single image on a plane (using import images as planes)
  2. Switch to rendered or lookdev view to see the image
  3. Connect a mapping node and texture coordinate node to image texture in Shader Editor
  4. Insert 2 different keyframes on the mapping node location value to animate

I have an example of a blinking sign here made using same steps as above:
material animation.blend

I just figured it out. I have had this annoying issue previously, but didn't work out the particulars until now.

The setting to view "Only Selected" turnoff only selcted.jpg is on in the dopesheet and (by default in most cases as far as I can tell). If you click it off, turnoff only selcted.jpg the key frames will appear. The option to turn it off is in the timeline's view menu. timelinemenu.jpg When it is on, you have to select both the object and the node inorder for the keyframes to appear. bothselectedv2.jpg

Selecting only the object objectonly selected.jpg
or the node mapping node selected without object.jpg
without the other results in the keyframes staying hidden.

The behavior is identical to 2.79b, so it isn't a regression

It would be nice if "only selected" was off by default in the shading editor, as to not confuse new users.

Wow thanks for the quick response, I am really grateful!
Having to select the node and the object is quirky but it works. Perhaps it can be documented officially somewhere?
