Colour setting in Principles BSDF Shader not working correctly in Eevee #67506

I have a simple shader set up -

Principled BSDF plugged to output -

when choosing the BASE Color - the intensity slider works but when choosing the color the intensity slider reverts to full brightness as the colour dial is moved - - problem occurs whether RGB, HSV or Hex selected.

apologies for omission

  1. OS- windows 64
  2. card 1080 tii Nvidia
  3. Blender 2.80 release candidiate (july 2019)
    Issue - I was trying to chase the base (diffuse color and intensity with the principled bsdf shader but moving one dial caused the other to also move (in the same shader) – that is colour and intensity). In the attached file up there are two shaders feeding into a mix - one of which was to color the windows in the main walls of the building model.
    I just tried again now and it is working fine - but I enclose anyway in case this is a bug
    have not had this issue in other beta builds
