System Information
Operating system: Mac Os 10.13.6
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024 MB

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.80 (sub 75), branch: master, commit date: 2019-07-24 14:22, hash: 507ffee6e1, type: Release
build date: 2019-07-24, 18:10:54
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
If I have a group of objects selected, when I'm using the standard selection tool and I press control to deselect just one object of the group, I got instead a selection of the last object I've clicked.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Create some objects, select them clicking Shift, pressing control to deselect one, instead just select the last one object.

Honestly, I've tried again but it doesn't work as you said. If I press also the Alt / Ctrl key on a single object I want to deselect from a group it just selects this last object. In this way, I lose the selection of the other objects I had.

Ok, sorry, thanks for the explanation. Coming from Modo it's just strange this behavior that I must drag with the Alt Key pressed instead of just clicking on the object you want to deselect, but I understand that is just as the software is designed! :) Thanks for the replies.

As far as I can see, default Blender keymap uses Shift+Click to do Toggle selection so you can select and deselect objects in the group (deselecting takes two clicks – one to make object active and one to deselect) while Ctrl+Click is used for “Select Center” and Alt+Click does “Enumerate” when there are several objects under the cursor. Box selection can deselect with Ctrl and add to selection with Shift. In any case, it shouldn’t be difficult to reassign these functions to your liking.
