Not sure how comfortable you are with the command prompt, but can you try running from the command prompt either
msiexec /l* blender.log /i blender-2.80-windows64.msi
ormsiexec /l* blender.log /i blender-2.80-windows32.msi
depending on the file you downloadedand attaching the blender.log file it generated?
@LazyDodo Attached is the blender log file and the new error message seen during installation.
blender.log
@LazyDodo Can you please give an update on this issue?
Looks like a file being written to your temp folder is having issues, I'm not entirely sure why it is unhappy, but there's a couple of things you can try (and i fully admit, i'm just throwing stuff at the wall here seeing if anything sticks)
1.perhaps your download is corrupted, you can validate you have a complete package by checking the MD5 / SHA256 checksum of the file you have against our hashes
md5
sha256
you can do this from the command line by running
certutil -hashfile blender-2.80-windows64.msi sha256
or
certutil -hashfile blender-2.80-windows64.msi md5
Perhaps clean up your %temp% folder? see if that helps...
Maybe there's file-system issues? run
chkdsk C: /f
from and administrative prompt (may require a reboot)Admit defeat and just grab the .zip file from our servers and bypass the installer altogether.
@LazyDodo I have admitted defeat and have downloaded the zip file from the location you have provided.
Thanks for the help. I will check further as to why this is happening.

Hi guys, we are trying to install the package silently, no success so far. A cmd prompt pops up at some point during the process, telling about a registry key or something.
Has anyone been there?, any known workaround?
Thanks in advance, best regards.

@hmaciel this thread is not good place to ask for technical support. You can report new bug, or ask on one of our community sites https://www.blender.org/community/
