System Information
Operating system: macOS Sierra version 10.12.6

Blender Version
Broken: ( 2.80 )
Worked: 65d95879f739, branch blender 2.7, 2019-03-15

Short description of error

'autodepth' and 'zoom to mouse position' do not work:

  • autodepth -> rotating does not orbit around mouse position
  • zoom to mouse position -> zooming in and out does not focus in on mouse position

For me, this worked correctly in 2.79. See video

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

'autodepth' and 'zoom to mouse position' are enabled. See video.

Seems to be working fine for me using your same settings on Windows 7.

Tested, It's working here, could you try a daily build?

For me it is working as well! I understand what is going on here. I unchecked the 'cursor init' checkbox in the keymap for viewport rotate, pan and orbit. I did this as a response to another problem i had (https://developer.blender.org/T68206) where in lookdev move, the zoom (with wheel) would lag. I thought i found a solution by unchecking the 'cursor init' checkbox but this apparently causes autodepth not to work anymore.

I would suggest to close this current task,
