UV Selection and Transforms not working #68266

Short description of error
Can not edit unwrapped UVs.
Selection only works in Face Mode.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Unwrap object,
Select geometry in UV Editor. (only Face Mode working)
Transform (not possible)

When I uncheck UV Editor -> View Menu -> UV Local View, I can select and move correctly.

I'm not sure what that option is supposed to do...

edit: ok I get what it's for now. But going by the manual/tooltip it seems it should outright hide faces where image is unassigned, not just make them unselectable?

I appended the object into a fresh file. Everything works as it should. I have had 2.8 behave weirdly with the old files before. One time, the file simply had no Render Tab until I appended the scene into a new file.

This might be worth investigating, but the actual problem is solved.
