Open, Needs Information from UserPublic

Description

System Information
Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate
Graphics card: Intel(R) Iris(TM) Graphics 550 (latest driver)
Computer: Lenovo ideapad 510S

Blender Version
Broken: blender-2.81-4c9fe657458f-win64
Worked: Blender 2.79b

Working fine until applying material color selection which crashes the graphic display and when the driver recovers/restarts, blender has alo crashed.
I have another Lenovo laptop: ideapad 330S with Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 and Blender 2.81 (or 2.8) does not crash on this.

you have same problem with 2.80 stable? https://www.blender.org/download/
can you check if Intel support website has a new drivers for your GPU? Brand GPU drivers can be older respect productor official drivers
Blender 2.81alpha is in heavy development and can be instable or not full working

Yes, I discovered the problem on 2.8 and tried 2.81 to see if it was corrected.
I have the latest official driver for the graphic card.
As all was working perfectly well on 2.79, maybe it could be a simple fix?
I really want to work with the new version because of its easy interface...

The most likely cause is still a too old graphics driver. The latest version is here:

If that doesn't help, please attach the output of Help > Save System Info.

{F7663917}Thank you for the link but it does confirm that I do have the latest graphic driver.
Also, version 2.79 was working fine and all other 3D software such as Adobe Fuse, Daz 3d, Hexagon etc. seem to work without crashing my graphic card?
