System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: Built-in Intel on HP laptop

Blender Version
Broken: 2.80
Worked: 2.79

Short description of error
Pressing "A" on the keyboard often does not deselect all vertices while in Edit Mode.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

In default startup, press Tab to switch into Edit Mode. Press "A" once to select all vertices. Press "A" again to deselect all vertices. Sometimes this works, sometimes it does not.

[EDIT] Selection and deselection work as expected and designed. To deselect you must use Alt+A or double press A, this changes was made many months ago in 2.80Beta age

It's not as before. Pressing A once always selects, and pressing Alt+A deselects. You can also double tap A to deselect but it has to be fast. If you want to use the old behaviour from 2.79, go to Preferences, keymap, and click on Select All toggles

Previous comments are correct. This seems to work as designed. Closing the report.
