annoying flickering bug on themes. #68834

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.18362 64 Bits
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 7600M Series ATI Technologies Inc. 4.5.13417 Core Profile Context 0
(also tested on theintel gpu and the same thing happens)

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.81 (sub 2), branch: master, commit date: 2019-08-18 20:41, hash: 10001d9099
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
Especially on bright themes, the shadow of the text starts to flicker, sometimes with the passing of the mouse, and in this case it is less annoying because it happens less frequently, but now with the new outliner where you can use the arrow keys the fliker of these shadows on the text, it becomes really very boring.
I noticed that this flikering also appears as 3d viewport axis, especially in the simple version

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

I cannot reproduce it.

Does it happen in every file?
Can you reproduce it with factory settings?
Please check if you can update your gpu driver.

You can check for yourself here if your hardware and software meet minimum Blender requirement

IMO Amd Radeon HD 7600M is a Terascale 3rd generation family GPU chip, older than minimum Blender requirement GCN 1st gen GPU chip

Update your GPU drivers from Amd support site can solve/mitigate this problem

sorry if I answer only now, I didn't realize that this bug report has been closed ..

@JacquesLucke

the problem appears on every file, even on a factory reset, but on a dark theme and one object it does not become so obvious.

to make it emerge:
factory reset
set blender light theme
do
ctl alt z many times to make overlays appear and disappear and you will see that a shadow will appear on the text and remain fixed, sometimes flicker sometimes goes away
(in scene with many objects the situation worsens and becomes more annoying (obviously with Light themes, otherwise with dark themes you only see a slight flikering of refresh)

@dark999

Please stop giving false information. That then the bugreports are closed but the problems remain.

On these GPUs, BOTH, AMD (pre GCN 1) and INTEL (HD 4000) blender works great on windows.
There were problems with the on AMD legacy drivers and they were solved with workarounds long ago.

The problems are on OSX and LINUX (on linux solvable sacrificing performance with R600_DEBUG=nosb ./blender )

These little bugs, they have nothing to do with the gpu drivers, it's just that with the default settings they are not noticed.

EDIT:

I just logged in on linux and tried blender on both gpus, and the exact same problem appears, so I'm pretty sure it's an internal blender problem.

Both these GPUs are below our minimum requirements, and so we no longer provide support for them. The issue is listed in #61936 (EOL GPU problems tracking report) in case anyone wants to work on it.
