Short description of error
Editing texture in image editor is very slow wit hi res textures

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Hi guys. Im struggeling with one problem. If i render image or want to paint texture, operating with image in image editor is very slow. This happens if texture(image) is 4000x4000 and bigger. 8000x8000 its imposible to zoom in and out. Very laggy and slow. But. I tryied to install windows 8.1 on my Mac. And everything is fast even 8000x8000 texture. So it is not problem of hardware but software. Is it possible to fix it or should i switch to Windows. Thanks for your work. Jan

[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)]
Try to make new 8000x8000 texture and move it around or zoom in/out in image editor

I cannot reproduce this on OSX 10.12.6. The textrure painting and floodfill feel slow, but zooming in and out works well enough. Could be related to the nvidia driver.

@Funtomas78, can you still reproduce the issue in the latest build?

HI Jaques. Not succes at all. But finally decided to switch to PC. Mac is not my friend anymore with their politics. But i tested Blender in Apple showroom with latest MacBook and everything is fast in viewport. I think is the a nvidia driver. Thanks anyway. With PC no problems.
