Unable to select armature/bones on Intel HD 4000 (Windows)
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10 Pro (1903, 18362.295)
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 4000

Blender Version
Broken: any 2.80, including 2.81
Worked: any version below 2.80

Short description of error

Attempting to select a bone or armature only works if we're clicking on the root bone.

I'm pretty sure that this is Intel's Windows drivers, since selecting bones and armatures work perfectly fine on Linux.

Interestingly enough, this issue doesn't appear on Rigify's generated rigs.

Toggling OpenGL Depth Picking doesn't appear to do anything.

Not sure if this classifies as a valid report given that the GPU is not officially supported.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

  1. Create an armature
  2. Go to edit mode and extrude it into something
  3. Try selecting individual bones and fail.
