Description

System Information
Operating system: Windows-8.1-6.3.9600 64 Bits
Graphics card: AMD Radeon R7 200 Series ATI Technologies Inc. 4.5.13416 Core Profile Context 15.300.1025.0

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.81 (sub 12), branch: master, commit date: 2019-09-25 20:42, hash: rBee4707544904
Worked: Blender 2.80

Short description of error
Many meshes are getting distorted, just after opening them. Note that it working well on my other PC and on this PC with Blender 2.80

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open the .blend should do it. This problem affects only old sculpted meshes ( Dyntopo and multires as well)
There is no artifacts on this PC with Blender2.80. I have to confess as well that i really know nothing about drivers and so on. I have updated them recently.
It works well if i change the viewport display to wire like in the video.

Event Timeline

Seems fine here (Linux, Nvidia, binary driver).

Visual artifacts on a single computer suggests a problem with the video card/driver subsystem.

But is working fine with Blender 2.80. Did devs changed somethings? And about video card and driver i recently updated. And I believe if it was video card/driver problem it would reflect on Blender 2.80, is it?

They added draw call batching in 2.81 to make it faster. (23 sept) The problem is probably related to this. Your old video card seem to have difficulty with this.

Thanks for the info, I have investigated more and i find out, it is affecting only some old sculpts not all of them. And if i sculpt with the latest master on that PC i don't have any artifacts. The mesh uploaded above is usable again after i run the new remesher. I m starting to suspect more that the problem is on Blender side.

@Germano Cavalcante (mano-wii) you recognize what it is ... and apparently it extends to other AMD GPUs that go beyond radeon HD

It is hard to know what is happening without being able to reproduce the problem.
Drivers for this video card are still maintained by AMD (at least on windows 10).

I believe this is a problem that should be addressed to AMD.
@Clément Foucault (fclem), any idea?

@Erick Tukuniata (erickblender)
have you updated the drivers?
try to see if the problem comes up with:

blender --debug-gpu-force-workarounds

I follow the link above from @Germano Cavalcante (mano-wii) (Thanks for that ) and install the latest version, now it is working without problem.
When nowadays everyone is doing and uploading things behind your back ( in the background ), drivers are still behind with their manual work. I m pretty i have updated them in close to the beginning of summer.

Thanks for your help :)

Germano Cavalcante (mano-wii) changed the task status from Unknown Status to Resolved.Sep 27 2019, 4:34 PM

Good to know :)
