Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
Annotation: The d-key for annotation not correctly bind in edit mode when using: knife tool, loopcut tool, polybuild, curso tool

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Go to edit mode try to draw with the d-key down + left mouse drag while one of this tool is selected: knife tool, loopcut tool, polybuild, curso tool

Notice while drawing ( d-key down + left mouse drag )is broken, erase ( d-key down + right mouse drag) is still working properly.

Event Timeline

Forgot to mention the real reason D key should be bind while those tools are active, the main reason is when doing retopo, bsurface cannot be used while polybuild is active, those 2 tools are really needed for retopo manually.

This problem seems closely related to the problem described in T70982

I will merge this report to T71164, because it is the same problem, but the areas of influence of these tools are larger.

Germano Cavalcante (mano-wii) changed the subtype of this task from "Report" to "Bug".

T71164 is not the same bug.

I have checked and the annotation operator is not called because there are some keymap conflict. As the general key for annotations is D. the other keymaps must be changed or we must keep this as a Know issue.

I believe keep this as known issue is a drawback for retopo workflow, and inconsistency since we can still use the shortcut to erase ( with right-select hold the D-key and RMB to erase).
