Using the Mechanical gears

Measure units will not stay set. I set for imperial and Inches but when I make change to gear settings the units go back to metric.

After deleating gears and re adding them a couple of times, I get a "Traceback error

File " C:\rogram files\Blender foundation\Blender\2.8\scripts\addons\,line 766, in invoke self.execute(context)

It repeats adding lines 719, 560, and 201

RuntimeError:Operator bpy.ops.object.mode_set.poll() failed, context is incorrect

Location <unkown location>: 1

Event Timeline

Issue repeats every time I restart 2.8

The traceback error is an error in the addon, so it isn't a bug in Blender. There is a place on this website for bugs in built-in addons. Or is it an addon found on the internet? This isn't the right place to report those bugs- you should contact the addon's developers.

Either way, there's an included addon that can create gears (Add Mesh: Extra objects), and it isn't giving me any error or any trouble with units. Without knowing where you got your addon, I can't find out if there's a bug in your addon, in Blender, or if the error is it's unique to your computer.

Can you include an explanation of how to get the error from default settings with a new file?

Philipp Oeser (lichtwerk) lowered the priority of this task from 90 to 30.Oct 23 2019, 1:15 PM

add_mesh_gears is now part of add_mesh_extra_objects

So path should be addons\add_mesh_extra_objects\
Also line numbers dont seem to correspond.

Are you sure this is not an old version of the Addon lying around?
Do you get the same errors when enabling the add_mesh_extra_objects Addon?

Philipp Oeser (lichtwerk) renamed this task from Memory hole to add_mesh_gears: bpy.ops.object.mode_set.poll() failed.Oct 23 2019, 1:16 PM
