System Information
Operating system:
Graphics card:

Blender Version
Broken:
(example: 2.79b release)
(example: 2.80, edbf15d3c044, blender2.8, 2018-11-28, as found on the splash screen)
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
Can't use panel to adjust the 'Distance Error', which makes it not usable at all.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

  1. Make some animation keyframes on the default cube with Auto Keying turned on and the animation playing (spacebar).
  2. Go to the graph editor, select a graph with L
  3. Hover with the mouse over the 3D viewport and press F3
  4. Search for "Simplify F-Curves", click it
  5. A panel pops up, but cannot be modified.

Cannot reproduce here [once the Simplify Curves+ Addon is enabled, and channels with keyframes are selected, I can execute the operator and change the value in the REDO panel/headsup display]

Have you checked this with a fresh build from https://builder.blender.org?
Could you also check this with Factory Settings and just that Addon enabled?

I don't know what was the case but a simple restart of the program seemed to work. Sorry for the confusion.

Tested in Blender 2.80

  1. Simplify F-Curves seem not to work with very tiny objects.
I've a small medaillon, that is just 10 centimeters wide. There is a small animated bird inside.
The simplify curve doesn't work, even when I set an error value of "0.00001".
The result: The curves are completely cleaned and became nearly straight lines after simplifying them.

All works fine with big sized objects in meters. So there seem to be a problem with the decimal places value.

  1. The tool can't be executed from Curves Editor->Channels menu.
It's just working, when I use the search bar and execute it from there manually.

EDIT: I've verified it. I've scaled my object 10 times as big, and all worked then.
So please correct this great tool to use it with very tiny models too. Animation curves can't be scaled proportionally, while objects are scaled as I know.

Thank you

A chance for a fix within the next future? See my post above, please.

Thank you

@ChristophWerner: Could you please report this in a new, fresh report?
(it is not practical having multiple issues in one report, thx)
