Assign Shortcuts: creates shortcut in the "wrong" space
Open, Needs Triage by DeveloperPublic

OS: Linux 5.3.8-arch1-1 x86_64

Blender version
Broken: 2.8x (up to and including rBfc79d2795169)

Short description of error
When using the context menu to assign shortcut to a button or checkbox, the shortcut is created in a wrong space, which may lead to error popups when pressing that shortcut with mouse hovering over a different space.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Load the default scene.
  2. In 3D viewport, expand the Overlays popover, right-click the Wireframes checkbox and assign a shortcut through the context menu.
  3. Note that shortcut works while the mouse is over the 3D viewport.
  4. Move the mouse over the Properties and try pressing the shortcut. You'll get an error popup.

This is due to the shortcut being created in the Window space, not 3D View space.

I'm assuming this is a duplicate of T65397: Assigning shortcut to editor properties gives errors.

Info updated. I'm not sure how "duplicate" it is, the behavior is different, though cause indeed may be the same.
