Short description of error
Simplify F-Curves can't be executed from Curves Editor->Channels menu.
It's just working, when using the search bar and execute it from there manually.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Activate the Addon
  • Create an Animation and select the animated object
  • Open the Graph Editor
  • In Graph Editor menu select Channel->Simplify F-Curves
  • Nothing happen

  • Open Search bar and type in "F-Curve", execute Simplify F-Curves from here
  • All works

Well, hm, thats because there is no REDO panel in the Graph Editor (yet)

  • it only works if you use the search bar in the 3D-view (then you get the REDO panel in the 3Dview -- which can be used to tweak the operator for the Graph Editor)
  • if you use the search bar from the Graph editor you wont get a REDO panel there [no way to adjust the Distance Error]
  • if you use the menu from the Graph editor you wont get a REDO panel there [no way to adjust the Distance Error]

You can however use F9 in the Graph Editor to bring up the REDO popup and adjust Distance Error from there...

Not quite sure how to prioritize this issue [feels like a bug, it is a known limitation on the other hand...], asking User Interface people here:

Proposal: If it's not a bug, then just remove it from the channel menu and direct the people to the search bar in the docs.
If it's possible in the future, then add it again to the menu.

At the moment it feels buggy for users, because nothing happens, when using the menu.

Thank you
