Short description of error
I have the same scene on Windows and Ubuntu. On Windows, everything works as expected with curved subdivision, on Linux no subdivision is visible.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Start Blender with the default cube scene.
Add subdivision surface modifier.
Nothing happens. (On Ubuntu. On Windows: Nicely curved Catmull-Clark-Subdivision.)

The "Unknown" hash above could indicate that this is a custom build, rather than the official build. If it is indeed a custom build, was it compiled with Open SubDiv support?

I don't know but it's the Ubuntu package based on the Debian package. Maybe something is broken since the switch to OpenSubdiv.

The official Linux version from blender.org is fine. It's just the Ubuntu version.
