Pardon my cluelessness, but how does one run the GPU test?
That seems to be missing from the description.

I have attempted to add 3 screenshots for clarification. In the blender benchmark, when changing the compute device from CPU to the GPU (the GTX 1660 TI) and then running either the quick benchmark or the complete benchmark, rendering crashes immediately.

Hi James, we just released an updated version of the Blender Benchmark Launcher. Can you give it a try?
I'm going to close the issue for now, feel free to create a new report if you encounter any new problem.
