Cursor frozen when switching to walk/fly navigation while moving the mouse #72066

Short description of error
Switching to walk/fly navigation through the shortcut while moving the mouse, causes the cursor to become stuck. The cursor remains stuck until the mouse isn't moved anymore for a short moment.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Move the mouse around in 3D view.
  • While moving the mouse press the shortcut to enable walk/fly navigation.
  • Continue to move the mouse and observe the cursor not following the mouse movement.
  • Stop moving the mouse.
  • Move the mouse again and the cursor should follow as expected.

Hi, thanks for the report.

%%%I cannot seem to reproduce this. Tried on 2.81 and my master build. Also tried rebinding default Shift + to Shift + F and still it worked. Make sure to try a File->Defaults->Load Factory Settings once and maybe try with default Shift + to make sure it's not some weird key conflict. Other then that maybe it is windows event system related.

I also tried this on my alternate laptop and second PC, this still happens, no matter what I bind it to. also tried loading factory settings

Someone with windows should check I guess. Also it would be good to know exactly what hardware (mouse, keyboard, keyboard language) you are using, same as was asked here: #67801

If the mouse is in motion while activating the walk navigation, then the cursor is indeed stuck while the mouse is still being moved. Once the mouse is very shortly motion less, the cursor starts to react properly again.

I consider it a bug. I'm pretty sure it's intended to be able to mouse look even if you are moving the mouse when you start the operator. Unfortunately I can not reproduce this on my linux systems, so will have to get someone that can to look into it.

I was able to reproduce this in Blender 3.0.0 on Windows 10 (64bit). It seems to happen 'randomly', I'm not able to reproduce it consistently.
