Short description of error
Adding an "image as plane" into the scene create an 'Alpha Blend' transparency material.
When rendering the scene in the Eevee engine with the mist pass turned on, Eevee outright ignores the "image as plane" in the mist pass.

This does not happen if you set another type of transparency for the material.
In this case, Eevee correctly masks out the dimensions of the regular plane mesh in the mist pass.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Render the attached .blend file below and select/view the Mist pass.

One can see that the "image as plane" has been ignored while the regular plane mesh (with the image material) has been rendered with a holdout.
