The add-on is for 2.80 and therefore not compatible with 2.79. The syntax error is because the Python version bundled with Blender 2.79 doesn't support type annotations.
Just for your information, we do not provide support for third party add-ons, only for those distributed with Blender. Please contact the developers of the add-on instead.
