System Information
Operating system:Mac OS Catalina
Graphics card: Radeon Pro Vega 20 4 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
Blender Version
Broken: 2.81a
Worked: (optional)
Short description of error
The file was working perfectly fine. I made a small rotation to one of the objects in the scene (the thin needle). Blender then crashed. I tried to reopen the file and blender now crashes any time I try to open it. It was all working just fine before I made the rotation of the object. I save often so the file should be intact.
I know my mesh wasn't the cleanest so I imagine i could have just reached the max of my systems machine. It was working flawlessly before the crash though. No lag, smooth animation movements.... So I'm not sure. Hope someone can help. Model-2-Elite-Pro_Animation.blend

Can reproduce this on windows.
Cah you go to Help > Save System Info and send this file?
Also you should have backup file with .blend1 and .blend2 filetype. Can you check if you can open these files?
Changed status from 'Confirmed' to: 'Needs User Info'
I tried opening the backup file and it produced the same result... crash on open.
I have attached the system report file. Hope that helps. And thank you for looking into this. MacBook-Pro-System-Report.spx

There is a corrupted mesh in this .blend file, in the object
Needle twist cap
. Unfortunately we can't tell from the .blend file how it got into that state, to fix this bug we would need the steps to create a mesh like that. So unless you can find out steps to reproduce that, we'll have to close this report. You can recover the .blend file by opening this .blend file in a workspace without any 3D viewport visible (e.g. Compositing) and the "Load UI" option unchecked when loading. Then you can delete the problematic object in the outliner.
