Short description of error
sphere jumps to the end of the path in stead of following it.

Added path with extrudes, added sphere, added constraint: Follow path, pressed Animate path, pressed Play

You have to add keyframe to NurbsPath property Path Animation > Evaluation Time. So at start it will vave value of 0 and in the end it will have value of 100.

Adding a keyframe makes no difference.
Changing start- and end-frames to 1 and 100 does the job.
Animation only works within the range of 0 to 100.

Works in my case.
