I've got this result, but I've had to render twice... version: 2.83 (sub 2), branch: master, commit date: 2020-02-13 17:12, hash: b6572c5430
a.png

And with no atrifacts on version: 2.82 (sub 6), branch: master, commit date: 2020-02-11 13:04, hash: 3dcddf83bf
2.82.png

Viewport render is not working for me at all

Can you try to render twice?

What do you see for rendered viewport? Your images look to be F12 renders... the issue is rendered viewport shading.

I've got this result, but I've had to render twice...

What did you get on your first render?

Viewport render is not working for me at all

Could you elaborate?

What did you get on your first render?

Empty image.
I have to hit render (F12) twice, when I open file. After that rendering works consistently (produces some image)

Viewport render is not working for me at all

Could you elaborate?

Every time I hit F11 and I get empty image.

Okay, try this:

  • Open .blend

  • Switch to rendered viewport shading

At which point I see this:

snip.PNG

What do you see?

Okay, try this: - Open .blend - Switch to rendered viewport shading At which point I see this: ![snip.PNG](https://archive.blender.org/developer/F8338210/snip.PNG) What do you see?

I see same thing

I see same thing

Right, but when you F12 you don't see the cube. When you viewport render (shading) you see the cube, because x-ray doesn't work correctly in the viewport. See the problem?

I understand now, you didn't hit F11, you just made a screenshot..

Can anybody update the description of this issue so it is easy for developers to reproduce.
I am not able to reproduce the issue, but that could also because of the missing information in the report.
Perhaps add a video would help.

Thanks

@Jeroen-Bakker Sorry, I was a bit confused about this one, but it seems it has been resolved already

@ChristopherAnderssarian can you confirm it is resolved?

The problem was that X-Ray didn't show the same result in the Rendered viewport vs. F12.

But having said that blender-2.83-acab7450784a-windows64 works as expected.

Probably got fixed with D7060
